The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to provide power connections to five lakhs households within 100 days. After a meeting with the power department, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, the department should prepare a working plan to give the connections as per the target. He said, consumers should not face any problem in getting new connections, increasing their power load and in billing of their power consumption.
The Chief Minister also directed that roster of power supply of 24 hours to district headquarters, 20 hours to Tehsil headquarter and 18 to villages must be maintained.
The state government has also decided to promote roof top solar energy in urban areas.
