The unprovoked ceasefire violations continue unabated and what’s even more unfortunate and shocking is that civilian areas are being targeted.

Befitting reply is being given from the Indian side and utmost vigil being maintained. In Delhi, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the government will do whatever necessary “to protect the honour and prestige of the country.

“Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Army Chief General Dalbir Singh also reviewed the overall security situation in Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. The Defence Minister will meet more troops deployed in other areas today.

Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan was summoned by the MEA yesterday.

The government expressed grave concern and put up a strong protest at the recent escalation of ceasefire violations by Pakistan which have resulted into several fatalities among civilians and security forces personnel.
