Minister of State for Atomic Energy and PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that unit 1 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant would restart by the end of this month. Inaugurating the Hall of Nuclear Power at National Science Centre in New Delhi today, Dr Singh said, the 2nd Unit of the power plant would become functional by the end of March this year. He said, it is the high time to do away with all myths surrounded around the safety of nuclear power. He assured citizens that India is as good as any other developed country in nuclear safety standards.
Speaking about the Hall of Nuclear Power Mr Singh said, Department of Atomic Energy not getting its right share of popularity as it is headquartered in Mumbai and this hall would compensate it.
