UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has said that he regarded his likely successor, former Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Guterres, as a super choice. Guterres was unanimously selected by the UN Security Council on Wednesday as the next UN Secretary-General.
The Security Council’s decision will be sent, following the formal approval today to the 193-member General Assembly for final formal approval.
