In a major political gain for BJP, six MLAs who were expelled by the Trinamool Congress have joined the party. They joined BJP in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and state party chief Biplab Kumar Deb at a function in Agartala yesterday.
The MLAs are former TMC State unit president Ashish Kumar Saha, Sudip Roy Barman, DC Hrangkhawl, Bishwabandhu Sen, Pranajit Singha Roy and Dilip Sarkar. They were expelled by TMC on the issue of disagreement for giving vote to Congress-CPIM sponsored Presidential candidate Meira Kumar.
