Two-day special session of In Gujarat assembly will begin today which assumes much significance due to elections of 3 seats of Rajya Sabha from Gujarat.
Polling for Rajya Sabha elections will be held tomorrow amidst tight security arrangements. BJP has fielded 3 candidates for total 3 seats going to vacate.
Apart from BJP’s National President Amit Shah and Union Minister for Textile and Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani, BJP has fielded former Chief Whip of Congress Balwantsinh Rajput as its third candidate. Congress has fielded party’s senior leader Ahmed Patel as its lone candidate.
Congress is facing political crisis following resignation of Shankarsinh Vaghela and six other party MLAs. Congress had to shift their MLAs to Congress ruled Karnataka fearing defection by more MLAs.
According to Congress sources, 44 MLAs presently kept at a private resort near Anand in Gujarat will directly reach to Gandhinagar tomorrow morning.
