At the time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was Riyadh, Saudi Arabia meeting Saudi leaders, The Imam of the al-Haram Masjid of the holy Kaaba Shareef Makkah Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Saleh bin Muhammed bin Ibrahim aal Talib was denouncing terrorism at a big conference in Patna, Bihar.
Addressing Aman (Peace) Conference Imam strongly hit out at terrorists for perpetrating violence in the name of Islam and said that such elements brought bad name to the religion. The Imam asked everyone to stand together and conveyed to people that the terrorism is nothing to do with Islam.
“Islam prohibits killing of innocent. Even in the situation of war, killing of women and children is opposed. In fact, the entire Islamic system talks about spreading peace and love. Islam is what Prophet Muhammad brought to the world and not the one which is in the form of terrorism,” Imam stressed
“Terrorists and terrorism follow no religion. The Quran and Hadees prohibit such act of killing. In fact, all the Islamic priests and scholars have made their stand clear against terrorism. We all are against terrorism as well as connecting terrorism with Islam. Even people from other religion had committed crime, but their religion was never pointed out. In fact, Muslims are the worst sufferers of terrorism,” he told the media when asked why most of the terrorists were Muslims.
Charging terrorists, who justified their actions by invoking religion, with bringing bad name to Islam, he said that such elements have no religion.
“They (terrorists) dont even spare their fellow believers. They attack mosques while the faithful are offering namaz,” he said in reply to a question.
The Imam also said though technology advanced, neither development nor today’s culture could contribute to spreading peace and love around the world.
