NEW DELHI: In his maiden visit to the national capital after taking charge, newly appointed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay held a series of high-profile courtesy meetings with the country’s top leadership.

Chief Minister Vijay called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and met with Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan at his residence.

Following his meetings with the constitutional heads, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief visited 10 Janpath to meet Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi. The meet holds political significance as the Indian National Congress (INC) is a key coalition partner in the newly formed TVK-led government in Tamil Nadu, with Congress lawmakers recently inducted into Vijay’s state cabinet.
