According to Police, suspected al-Qaeda terrorist Abdur Rahman, who was arrested from Cuttack in Odisha last week, was asked to recruit youths to work for terror organisations. Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate police chief Rajendra Prasad Sharma told reporters that Abdur Rehman had met another suspected al-Qaeda terrorist Mohammed Asif in Bangalore.
Asif was arrested from Delhi. The police chief said earlier, Asif had received a message from a Pakistani al-Qaeda co-ordinator in which he had been asked to discuss with Rahman for recruitment. A five member police team is leaving Bhubaneswar today to coordinate with the special cell of Delhi police. The team will collect information about Rehman’s foreign link and financial transaction. Rehman is currently in 12-day custody of Delhi police.
