Staff Report / New Delhi

The Supreme Court will hold a special hearing tomorrow at 10.30 AM on two cases linked to the ongoing protests. One concerns a contempt petition alleging that metro services remained closed despite a court order to ease restrictions.

The second petition, filed by Trinamool Congress MP and senior advocate Menaka Guruswamy, challenges the preventive detention of several opposition leaders. The special hearing is expected to examine both the alleged non-compliance with the court’s directions and the legality of the detentions, bringing two key legal challenges arising from the protests before the apex court.
