Spiritual leader Aga Khan is arriving in New Delhi today, on a 10 days visit to India. This year marks the Diamond Jubilee of Aga Khan leadership. He will hold talks with Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu tomorrow. During his stay in New Delhi, Aga Khan will also call on the President and the Prime Minister.
Sunder Nursery, a 90-acre park near Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi, will be inaugurated by Vice President tomorrow in the presence of the Aga Khan.
The park, a part of the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative is a partnership between Aga Khan Trust for Culture, Aga Khan Foundation, Central Public Works Department, South Delhi Municipal Corporation and Archaeological Survey of India.
In addition to these engagements, he will be visiting the cities of Ahmadabad, Hyderabad and Mumbai, where Aga Khan Development Network is involved in various development projects. It may be noted that during his previous visit in 2015, the Aga Khan was conferred Padma Vibhushan for his contributions to social development in India.
