Spain’s government says it has demanded that North Korea reduce its diplomatic staff in Madrid in response to the country’s latest missile launch. The Spanish foreign ministry yesterday said it had summoned the North Korean ambassador to notify him of its decision.
The ministry said it had condemned North Korea’s ballistic missile launches and nuclear tests in violation of UN Security Council resolutions as a serious threat to regional peace and global security.
It said the North had rejected a demand by the international community for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, and that its actions increased tensions. The North fired a ballistic missile over Japan on Tuesday.
