Earlier, she met Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi and invited the Congress to join the government. She also invited the Congress chief to witness the swearing in ceremony.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal Governor has formally invited the Trinamool Congress chief to form the new government in the State. In a formal letter Governor Mr. M. K. Narayanan invited the Trinamool Congress chief Mr. Mamata Banerjee to take over the reigns of the State after the party’s spectacular win in the State Assembly elections, in coalition with the Congress.
