Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that development was the only solution to all problems. He was addressing a public rally at Bodofa Nagar in Kokrajgarh in Assam. He announced to update the Central Institute of Technology, Kokrajhar as a deemed university within a year. Mr. Modi asked, what the Congress government in Assam has done for the last 15 years.

He said that officials of DoNER ministry are visiting states of North East to look into the development works. He assured to provide all helps for the all round development of Bodoland Territorial Council area. He said that he has come to Kokrajhar to fulfill the aspirations of the youths. He said he has already instructed that youths from Northeast should be recruited in Delhi Police and the process has started.

Mr. Modi also said that steps are being taken to grant ST status to Karbi and Mikir staying at plains and Bodos staying in hills. He said that the Kanchanjangha Express train will run to the Silchar in Barak valley. Mr.Modi said that stress has been given for the infrastructure development of North East. The Prime Minister said that steps have been taken to provide electricity connection to 18 thousand villages.

Union Sports minister Sarbanand Sonowal and DoNER minister Jitendra Singh have attended the meeting. The leaders of Bodoland Peoples Front including its President Hagrama Mahilary has also shared the dais with Mr.Modi. Bodoland Peoples Front is the ruling party of Bodoland Territorial Council and it has announced to support the BJP in upcoming Assam assembly polls.

The Prime Minister will also address a youth rally at Khanapara in Guwahati and visit IIT Guwahati campus. Mr.Modi will lay foundation stone of permanent campus of Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati and interact with students of 21 higher education institutes of North East at IIT Guwahati.

Earlier, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Sikkim organic festival at Epics Garden, Saramsa in East Sikkim this morning. Mr Modi took round of organic food and products stalls which decoratively displayed their varieties including vegetables and fruits.

There are 77 exhibition stalls taking part in this organic festival. During inspecting steals Prime Minister also interacted with some farmers. Some startup companies are also displaying their food processing products. Prime Minister interacted with these young entrepreneurs and appreciated their efforts.

The whole epica garden is beautifully decorated with natural agri profits including vegetables and fruits. Some beautiful statues erected with fruits and vegetables become centre of attraction. Prime Minister also look impressed with these creativity. With Prime Minister, Chief Minister of Sikkim Pawan Chamling, Governor Sriniwas Patil, Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh, Mos Jitendra Singh and Sikkim agricultural minister Somnath Poudhyal also took round of the exhibition.
