The Supreme Court today refused to stay a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Pankaj Bhujbal, son of senior NCP leader Chaggan Bhujbal, in a money laundering case. The bench of Justices A M Sapre and Ashok Bhushan asked Pankaj, who is evading arrest in the case, to first take legal recourse before the Bombay High Court. Pankaj’s counsel submitted that the top court had earlier stayed NBW against a co-accused in the case and he should also be granted the relief but the bench remained unmoved.

The Enforcement Directorate on March 30 had filed two FIRs against Bhujbals and others under the anti-money laundering laws,on alleged irregularities in the construction of the state guesthouse Maharashtra Sadan in Daxelhi and in the Kalina land-grabbing case.
