The Court told the Union government that nine states are suffering from drought, and a blind eye cannot be turned towards their problems.
The PIL, filed by non-profit Swaraj Abhiyan, is seeking adequate relief to drought-hit states from the Centre.
In one of the previous hearings, the court had criticised states that had failed to implement the Food Security Act, considering the drought situation in the country.
