Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said leaders of ruling party must be extra cautious before making any statement. He said it should also be ensured that there is no possibility of statements to be interpreted in the wrong manner.
The Home Minister also said he has spoken to Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on the Gohana incident in which one Dalit boy was reportedly killed by police. He said the Chief Minister has taken cognizance of the incident and all appropriate measures are being taken.
Meanwhile, National Commission for Scheduled Castes has asked SSP Ghaziabad for action against Union Minister, retired General V K Singh, under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
In a notice issued to the SSP, the commission chairman, P L Punia sought response as to what action district police has taken against the Union Minister. Mr Punia has also directed SSP Ghaziabad and DGP Uttar Pradesh to appear before the commission on 2nd of next month.
In other development, Aam Aadmi Party leaders led by Ashutosh visited Parliament Street police station and lodged a complaint against General Singh for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Dalits.
