“Delhi Police is seen by countrymen not just as a state police but police of the entire nation”

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked the Delhi police to draw a long-term plan and strategy to instill confidence among the people that they can feel secure and safe. Addressing a Delhi Police raising day function in New Delhi today, Mr Singh said, people have a lot of expectation form Delhi Police and this requires to put extra effort and they need to be extra alert and cautious.

He said apart from maintaining law and order, Delhi police are also entrusted with a massive task of managing traffic and they efficiently performing all its assigned duties.

Mr Singh hoped that the performance of Delhi Police is recognised not only at national level but also internationally. He said Delhi Police is seen by countrymen not just as a state police but police of the entire nation, as Delhi is the capital of the nation.

Home Minister congratulated Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik and his entire team for the commendable work they are doing.

Mr Singh announced to provide five crore rupees for Delhi police martyr fund and also gave away police medals to Police personnel on the occasion.
