Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off Goa-Mumbai double decker express at a function in Panaji. The newly started train with a capacity of a thousand seats will run thrice a week between Margao in Goa and Lokmanya Tilak terminus in Kurla– Mumbai . The train was flagged off by remote control from a non railway location for the first time.
While speaking on the occasion Prabhu announced starting of Goa Tirupati train on pilot basis at the earliest. Shri Prabhu also said that Goa being the prime tourism destination of the country deserves better connectivity during the peak tourist season.Chief Minister of Goa Laxmikant Parsekar, demanded completion of ROB works in Goa at the earliest. Union Minister of state for AYUSH Shripad Naik thanked the Railway Minister for announcing a Rajdhani Express from Goa.
