Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi announced a special package of Rupees 1 thousand crore for the development of Scheduled Caste community. Announcing the special package at a public meeting held on the occasion of 60th death anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar in Guwahati, Gogoi said that the State Government is giving thrust to the development of SC and other communities in the State. He also unveiled a life-size statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar at the Assam Secretariat in Guwahati.
