Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi today accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of wanting to weaken the labour force of the country.
Speaking at the plenary session of Indian National Trade Union Congress, INTUC in Delhi, Mr Gandhi said the Prime Minister thinks he could make labourers work by force, and fear. He assured that Congress party will fight the BJP and RSS for rights of labourers.
He said Modi government has made only empty promises and schemes such as Swachhta Abhiyaan, Make In India and Accessible India have yielded nothing.
Speaking on the occasion, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said the dissatisfaction of workers with the anti-labour economic policies of the NDA Government was obvious from the one day strike observed in the country this September.
Mr Singh said the Congress party has always believed that trade union movement is an integral part of social democracy.
Meanwhile, BJP today hit out at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his accusations against Prime Minister that Narendra Modi wants to make labourers in the country work by force and under fear.
The party said people who have lost political moral to speak on labour issue are making allegations against Prime Minister which needs to be condemned in all possible manner.
BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said sixty years of bad governance of Congress is in front of everyone as only series of corruptions occurred during the regime.
