South Korea has been witnessing huge protests demanding the resignation of President Park Geun-hye. Hundreds of thousands of South Koreans filled central Seoul yesterday to demand the resignation.
Ms Park is accused of allowing her friend, Choi Soon-sil, to manipulate power from behind the scenes. The president has apologised twice, but has so far resisted calls to resign.
The police estimate of the turnout was much lower, at 2 Lakh sixty thousand but the crowd seemed larger than at an enormous rally in the capital Seoul two weeks earlier.
It was the fifth consecutive Saturday marked by a large protest against the President. The demonstrations have been peaceful so far.
