AMN / NEW DELHI
Government has suspended three security personnel following a security breach of Congress General Secretary Priyanka Vadra. It has also ordered a high-level enquiry into the matter. This was informed by Home Minister Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha today during a discussion on Special Protection Group (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
He said, the incident occurred last week when a black colour vehicle with some Congress workers barged into the house of Priyanka Vadra in the National Capital. He said, the security breach was seemingly due to some confusion over the colour of the vehicle.
Security breach at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s Lodhi Estate home last week. According to the sources, some unknown persons barged in in Priyanka Gandhi’s residence and asked for selfies, adding that her office has taken up the matter with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) which is responsible for her security.
The security breach at Priyanka Gandhi’s house happened on November 26.
The Centre in November had replaced the Special Protection Group (SPG) cover of the Gandhi family with Z-plus security provided by the CRPF. Under the Z-plus security, the Gandhis are now being protected by the CRPF commandos in close proximity besides guards at their homes and where ever they travel in the country.
