GAYA: At a time when politician of all hues are trying woo Muslim in Bihar before the Assembly elections, A number Poor people of minority community are traumatized and looking frantically at their burnt shop and establishments at mohallah Abgila here. Their whole source of dal roti burnt down last night (Monday)

A group of miscreant allegedly supported by some local politician went berserk during Durga idol immersion procession and started firing and arson targeted at the minority community.

At least four people have been injured while  several shops belonging to minority community near Qabaristan were turned into ashes. Several vehicle were also set on fire. 

Local people alleged that the incident took place due to partisan role played by police,  particularly the local police station. They gave enough time for miscreant to terrorize the poor people of minority community.

Local people allege that  head of Mufassil police station sent the back Para-military force even before the whole procession was passed. “Had there been the para-military forces. no violence could have taken place”,  said Rahim a local alleging that the riot was a well planned conspiracy. Abgila on the Gaya-Nawada road has become a sensitive place for last few year. But senior police officers was present during the idol procession.

The district magistrate Sanjay Singh, senior SP Amit Kumar Lodha reached the spot when several shop and vehicle were already gutted.

Local community leader Masood Manzar, Frasat Hussain, Azahar Zaman and other reached the spot before the administration could reach there. They asked the community people not to get provoked by communal element.  

Several Muslim groups and NGOs have demanded a thorough probe into whole incident.

Two years back similar incident had taken place at same spot and same occasion but no action was taken against any guilty policemen.

Meanwhile Jamiat ul Ulema Bihar has demanded stern action agaisnt the guilty poilicemen. It also demanded compensation for the victim. A dleegation of Jamiat led by state vice president Hafiz Fateullah vistited riot affected abgila on Tuesday and take stock of the situation there.It found that half a dozen muslim shops have have been compeletly burnt down by miscreant. it wanted immediate relief to the victims.
