Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday visited Hunar Haat in New Delhi. He interacted with the participating artisans at the Haat and also witnessed the cultural programs.
In a tweet, Mr Modi said, the participation of people from all across the country makes Hunar Haat a vibrant place. Prime Minister said, it showcases the best of products including handicrafts, carpets, textiles and delicious food. He said, efforts such as Hunar Haat have given a platform to many talented individuals. Mr Modi said, Hunar Haat reflects the government’s commitment to providing employment opportunities as well as preserving and promoting India’s indigenous traditional legacy, several of which are on the verge of extinction.
Master artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts from across the country are participating in the Haat which will continue till the 23rd of this month.
More than 250 stalls have been set up at India Gate lawns where these experts are showcasing their indigenous exquisite handmade products. About three lakh master artisans, craftsmen and culinary experts have been provided employment and employment opportunities through Hunar Haat in the last three years. These beneficiaries include a large number of women artisans.
