Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed on the use of technology in agriculture. Speaking at Vadrad in Prantij taluka of Sabarkantha district in Gujarat Wednesday, Mr Modi said that it is important to use the latest technology when it comes to agriculture.
Praising Israel’s booming agricultural sector, Mr Modi said that the country stands out for its innovative techniques in this area. Mr Modi said that we are all aware of the strides, Israel has made in agriculture, including when it comes to managing water resources and irrigation. He said that Israel shows the way on how to transform a nation with the agriculture sector at the core. He said that with the help of technology & advanced Science, Israel has brought revolution in the agriculture sector.
Speaking on this occasion, Isreali Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Prime Minister Modi for his vision for India. He said that we operate in many countries but the biggest project that Mashav has is here in India because India has a leader, has a vision. Mashav is Israel’s agency for international development cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi and his Israeli counterpart dedicated i-CREATE facility located on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. The i-Create is an independent Centre created with the objective of facilitating entrepreneurship through a blend of creativity, innovation, engineering, product design and leveraging emerging technologies to deal with major issues such as food security, water, connectivity, cybersecurity, IT and electronics, energy, bio-medical equipment and devices etc. It aims to develop an ecosystem in India to generate quality entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi has said that innovation has a key role to play in bringing the people of India and Israel closer to each other. He said the entire world has taken note of the technological prowess and creativity of Israel. Prime Minister Modi said that the Government is working to make the entire system innovation-friendly so that intent can generate ideas; ideas lead to innovation, and innovation helps create a New India.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Mr Modi was catapulting India into one of the great powers of the world through the power of innovation. He said Israel was ready to partner with India in every field including Water, Agriculture, Health and Life Sciences.
Earlier in the day, both the leaders participated in a cultural roadshow and visited historic Sabarmati Ashram of Mahatma Gandhi. The two leaders accompanied by Mr Netanyahu’s wife Sara tried their hand at the charkha and bonded over a round of kite flying at Sabarmati Ashram.
