Parliament today approved the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill 2020 and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill 2020 with Rajya Sabha approving it amid the uproar by the opposition parties.
The House also negated the oppositions’ amendments to send the Bills to the Select Committee. The House was also adjourned for ten minutes during the discussion when opposition members including Congress, TMC, Left, Aam Aadmi Party came into the well and started sloganeering and protesting against the Bills.
When the House reassembled the Chair was guarded by the marshals and amid sloganeering and ruckus the two bills were passed.
