Allahabad district administration has denied permission to All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, AIMIM, to organise a meeting to be addressed by its Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on April 26. The District Magistrate in his order said that in view of law and order and movement of traffic in the area, permission can not be granted to hold meeting in Khuldabad or Kareli areas of the city.

Allahabad High Court on Thursday had asked the District Magistrate to decide the application filed by AIMIN seeking permission to hold a rally.

The AIMIM had filed the application on March 30 before the administration. Earlier, Owaisi was supposed to address a rally on March 15 in the city but the administration after giving an interim permission withdrew it. The administration said that Owaisi’s statements had the potential to disturb law and order situation.
