India’s Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that onus of creating an environment for improving Indo-Pak ties and normalising the bilateral relationship is more on Pakistan. Speaking at the New York-based think-tank Council on Foreign Relations, Mr. Jaitley, who is on 10-day visit to the United States, said that India is interested in improving relationship with Pakistan and onus of the responsibility for creating an environment in which the relationship can grow rest with Islamabad.
He said much will depend on Pakistan and the kind of any provocation coming from it, as border frequently becomes tensed with Pakistani actions. He went on to elaborate on India’s ties with its neighbours. Prime Minister Modi earlier this week had called up his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif to greet him on holy month of Ramzan.
