Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said the gross Non-Performing Assets (NPA) have declined from eight lakh 95 thousand 601 crore rupees as on 31st of March 2018 to seven lakh 89 thousand 569 crore rupees as on 31st of March 2019.
She said, the aggregate losses of the Public Sector Banks reduced by five thousand 286 crore rupees in 2018-19.
Giving this information in a written reply to the Lok Sabha, the Minister said this was due to the government’s strategy of recognition, resolution, recapitalization and reforms.
