No written complaints could be traced: ECI to Kejriwal

Chief Electoral Office of Delhi today said that no written complaints could be traced in most of the cases of allegations against BJP workers for intimidating and harassing AAP volunteers in New Delhi Assembly Constituency.

In its reply to the issues raised by AAP National Convener, Arvind Kejriwal alleging intimidation and harassment to grass-root volunteers of his party, the CEO said that whenever written complaints are received from any political party citing such allegations, all such matters are investigated in accordance with laws and ECI norms. Regarding specific complaints mentioned in Mr Kejriwal’s representation, the Chief Electoral Office said that police has reported that necessary action was taken as per law in all the cases. It also said that in order to ensure inducement free and fair elections, complaints on C-VIGIL portal of ECI are being attended, inquired and disposed of continuously.

In New Delhi constituency, action has been taken in 115 complaints within 100 minutes in majority of cases as mandated by ECI till date since 7th January. Seizure of cash and liquor has also been actively done. Till date, 36 laKH rupees, 144 litres of Liquor, Drugs worth 8.9 crore rupees, precious metals worth 1.22 crores and other items worth 97 lakhs have been seized in New Delhi constituency since 7th January
