The government has withdrawn the special facility of using reserved VIP lounges at airports to Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim who is undergoing imprisonment for rape case.
After the special CBI court convicted the Dera chief, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) wrote a letter to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and recommended his name to be removed from the list of special people for the reserved lounge.
According to the circular issued on Friday by the Ministry, Ram Rahim’s name has been removed from the list with immediate effect.
The AAI has ordered all its regional offices to immediately issue this order to all the airports.
