The Myanmar government has rejected UN allegations of human rights abuses against Rohingya Muslims. The government’s inquiry into violence in northern Rakhine state last year that forced tens of thousands of Muslim Rohingya to run to Bangladesh, has concluded that no such crimes happened.

A UN report in February reportedly said security forces instigated a campaign that amounted to crimes against humanity. Speaking to media at the release of the Rakhine Investigative Commission’s final report, Vice President Myint Swe yesterday denied any such charges.
