Japan’s Meteorological Agency says a volcano in Indonesia experienced a large eruption at around 8 p.m. local time on Wednesday.
The blast at Mount Ruang could generate tsunami due to air pressure waves.
Agency officials say any tsunami that occur could reach Japan’s southernmost prefecture of Okinawa at around 11 p.m. Japan time at the earliest.
