Well known painter Ms.Latika Sinha’s latest work has made deep impact on art lovers of the capital. Her ‘ Colours of India’ exhibition is currently on at the Lalit Kala Academy. Her works span across the usage of water colour, oil and acrylic.
A large number of her works in water colour are in the Surrealistic genre and are based on her belief in life after death. There is a vivid and vibrant look to her paintings which are also supplemented by the remarkable usage and depiction of lines, the shape and outline of figures as well as the texture.
This, coupled with her choice of bright and striking colours, and which really differentiates her from others, makes her work a visual delight often invoking wonderment in the minds of the viewers and sets them ruminating on immortality and eternity- abstract ideas that have been brilliantly brought out through the medium of art by Latika in a unique manner.
Prior of the current exhibition, her recent exhibitions at Jaipur and later in Mumbai got rave reviews.
Latika did her Bachelor of Fine Arts from prestigious MS University, Baroda. She was the topper of her batch.
Besides her interest in art, she is a home maker and a keen collector of art, sculptures and crafts. Even though she likes the works of masters like M.F.Hussain and Krishan Khanna, Latika Sinha has developed her own style. She has won series of awards in Rotary and other exhibitions. More often than not, her paintings are generally in private collections in India and abroad.
‘Colours of India’ exhibition will remain open to all till May 10.
