The administration of Ladakh has evacuated more than 400 Stranded Passengers of Suru Valley, Barsoo Nallah and Stakpa Umba, from Kargil.
These people were stranded in Kargil after the announcement of Nationwide Lockdown and the declaration of the Sankoo area as Containment area.
These people were demanding that they must be allowed to move to their homes, in view of the upcoming sowing season and the holy month of Ramadan
Meanwhile Executive Councillor Syed Abass Razvi, Councillor Parkachik Haji Ghulam Mohammad, Nominated Councillor Zainab Bi, BDCs, Sarpanches and Panches of the respective areas thanked the Chief Executive Councillor Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council from Kargil, Mr. Feroz Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner Kargil Baseer Ul Haq Chowdhary for granting permission for evacuation.
The local administration said there is only one Positive case in Kargil, whose second test has come in negative. She added that if the third test also is negative the patient will be discharged as per WHO protocols and Kargil will be declared Covid Free.
In the meantime District Administration Kargil today launched the online Electronic Curfew Pass (E-Pass) service in order to mitigate the difficulties being faced by the general public especially patients, labourers, Government employees and stranded people due to the ongoing lockdown triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
