The festival of Janmashtami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm and reverence across the country today. Around the world, devotees are gathering in huge numbers for the Darshan of Lord Krishna in temples.

On the occasion, President Droupadi Murmu has extended her greetings on Janmashtami to all countrymen.

In a social media post, the President urged everyone to embrace the teachings of Lord Shri Krishna and commit to working towards the progress and prosperity of the country.

The President said that this festival inspires everyone to be dedicated to the divine ideals of Lord Shri Krishna.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also wished people on the occasion. Mr Dhankhar said, Janmashtami is a day of profound spiritual significance and asked people to reflect timeless lessons of Lord Krishna in their life and foster unity, peace, and harmony in the society.

In a social media post, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated everyone on the occasion of Janmashtami.

The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has extended his heartiest greetings to the people on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami.

In his message the Lt Governor extended his warm greetings and best wishes to all and said that Lord Shri Krishna embodies devotion, righteousness and wisdom and His teachings inspire all of us to rededicate ourselves for righteous action and to build a just society.

Mr Sinha hoped that the auspicious festival usher in happiness, prosperity, well-being of all and inspire us to lead a virtuous life.  

Janmashtami is being celebrated in Gujarat with religious fervor today. The day is celebrated with great exuberance at the most revered Dwarkadhish temple in Dwaraka and Shri Ranchhodrai ji temple in Dakor and other Lord Krishna temples across the state. 

Shri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated with much fervour in the whole country today. Temples and houses in the entire Braj region of Uttar Pradesh have been decorated with colorful tableaux.

As per the tradition, Shri Krishna’s birth will be celebrated at 12 midnight today in Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Since yesterday, lakhs of devotees from across the world are visited the famous Shri Krishna Janambhoomi, Dwarkadhis, Thakur Banke Bihari, Prem and ISKCON temples of  Uttar Pradesh.

The Braj area of Uttar Pradesh has been decked up with lights and colourful tableaux and devotees are singing hymns in the praise of the lord. The festival of Janmashtami is also being celebrated with grandeur in all the police lines and police stations in the state.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath worshipped the idol of Radha-Krishna at the birthplace of Shri Krishna in Mathura and planted a tree in the temple premises, today morning.

While addressing the devotees present in the temple, CM Yogi said that Lord Krishna had established religion, truth and justice on this holy land in Dwapar Yuga.

He appealed to the countrymen to follow the path shown by Lord Krishna so that the vision of a developed India can be realized.
