The beer and wine shop parlour owners of Kerala have moved the Supreme Court contending that its December 15 order banning the liquor shops within 500 metres on the either side of the national and state highways was not applicable to them as they came under different category.
They have contended that December 15 ban order was applicable to liquor shops selling liquor with 45.5% alcohol content.
The vacation bench of Justice R.K.Agrawal and Justice Deepak Gupta said that the plea for clarification by the owners of the beer and wine parlour in Kerala would be heard in July as counsel appearing for beer and wine parlour mentioned the matte.
The owners of 76 parlour that have moved the top court seeking clarification of December 15 order have contended that beverages being sold by have 6 to 12% alcohols content.
