Following a confirmed Nipah virus case in Ernakulam district of Kerala, the Health Department has initiated several preventive measures to control it. Doctors, nurses, health workers have been given special training by a team of experts to deal with the virus attack. Health Department has also formulated special task programmes for next twenty-one days to deal with the outbreak.

“The Health Department has made a list of 311 people who made contact with the affected person and asked them to remain in their home. Meanwhile, the District Collector has informed that there is no need to get panic and situation is under control. He also informed that a seven-member Central team led by Dr Ruchi Jain has reached Kochi to oversee the activities in the State.
