External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today met her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing and discussed a host of bilateral issues and ways to step up the pace of high-level interactions to improve the relationship.

She said Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through the Nathu La route will be resumed this year. She said China has assured India to resume sharing of hydrological data of the Brahmaputra and Sutlej rivers during the current year.

The External Affairs Minister said, the two sides also reviewed various aspects of bilateral relations and discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Mrs Swaraj was received by Mr Wang at the Diaoyutai State Guest House ahead of their bilateral meeting. She reached Beijing yesterday on a four-day visit to take part in the foreign ministers’ meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

In her initial remarks, Mrs Swaraj congratulated Mr Wang on being elevated as state councillor and appointed as the special representative for the India-China boundary talks.
