The two-day JD(U) national council meeting will begin in New Delhi on Sunday to finalize the new election symbol and discuss the strategy for the expansion of the party at national level. Sources said the party is all set to adopt wheel as its new symbol in place of arrow.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, party spokesperson K C Tyagi said in the previous elections, JD(U) candidates had lost several seats due to confusion among voters over almost similar election symbols of Shiv Sena and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He said the Election Commission has given green signal to the party to change the symbol.

It will be JD(U)’s first national council meeting after party’s victory in Bihar assembly elections in alliance with RJD and Congress.
