The ongoing military escalation between the United States and Iran has intensified, marked by consecutive nights of widespread airstrikes targeting multiple Iranian cities and subsequent retaliatory warnings from Tehran.
Iran claims retaliatory attacks on US military assets at Kuwait’s Camp Doha as oil rises to $92 a barrel. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has announced targeting and disabling multiple radar systems in Kuwait as part of the latest phase of its ongoing retaliatory strikes in the face of the United States’ violations against Iranian territory.
The IRGC made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, describing the strikes as the 24th wave of its retaliatory Operation Nasr- (Victory) 2.
According to the statement, the strikes were carried out “in continuation of efforts to clear the region of the radar systems” that serve the United States’ purposes.
The IRGC said its forces targeted “an early-warning radar, a tactical radar complex in the vicinity of Ali al-Salem Airbase, and another radar system on Kuwait’s Bubiyan Island.”
In response to the campaign, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Iran’s military command have vowed to continue operations to “punish the aggressor”. Tehran has issued stern warnings that the conflict risks spilling far beyond its borders, pointing to retaliatory missile and drone activities targeting regional assets, including air defenses intercepting incoming barrages in Kuwait.
According to IRNA, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has warned the United States against any attack on Iran’s nuclear and sensitive facilities, saying such an action would constitute an expansion of the war in the region.
Khatam al-Anbiya, which is the operational headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, said in a statement early Wednesday that the United States had threatened to attack Iran’s nuclear and sensitive sites.
It warned that if the “aggressor and terrorist” US military takes such action, Iran would consider it an expansion of the war in the region, adding that “all interests of the United States, its allies and supporters” would come under powerful attacks by the Iranian Armed Forces.
The warning came after US President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday, during a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart at the White House, that the United States would “soon” target Iran’s Kuh-e Kolang (Pickaxe Mountain) facility.
