Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talk won’t affect the integrity of Manipur.
Speaking to the media person during the Patriots’ Day observation at Imphal today, N. Biren Singh said that the Centre had assured that the opinions of the people of Manipur will be heard before inking the final agreement between Government of India and NSCN (IM).
He said, the observation of Patriots’ Day reminds of the supreme sacrifice made by forefathers for freedom and sovereignty of motherland and this sense of patriotism should not be forgotten by the present generation.
The Manipur State government observed the day in memory of those heroes who sacrificed their lives in the Anglo-Manipur War, 1891.
The Chief Minister led others in paying floral tributes to the heroes.
On the occasion of Patriots’ Day 2020, the Government of Manipur announced name of 13 police personnel and officers who will be given awards by the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Gallantry and 7 police personnel and officers for Manipur Chief Minister for outstanding Devotion to Duty.
