At Paris olympics, in table tennis team event, Indian women’s including Manika Batra, Sreeja Akula, and Archana Kamath beat the Romanian team by 3-2 in the pre-quarterfinal match. With this win, they have qualified for the quarterfinal.        

In Badminton, Indian shutler Lakshya Sen missed out a historic Olympic medal as he lost to Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia by 21-13,16-21,10-21 in the bronze medal match.

In wrestling, Nisha Dahiya lost to PAK Sol Gum of North Korea in 68kg freestyle -quarter final.

Indian shooters Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Maheshwari Chauhan lost to China in the bronze medal play-off in skeet mixed team event.       

In athletics, India will be represented by two athletes, Kiran Pahal, who will compete in the women’s 400m round 1, and Asian Games gold medallist Avinash Sable, who will strive to qualify for the 3000m steeplechase final, later in the day.      

In sailing, Vishnu Saravanan will continue his campaigns in the men’s and and Nethra Kumanan will compete in women’s dinghy events.
