MEA swarupIndia today said there is nothing unusual about US Ambassador Richard Verma’s recent visit to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.

Reacting to China’s objection to the visit, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, Mr Verma visited Arunachal Pradesh at the invitation of India which is its integral part.

Mr Swarup said, Mr Verma is accredited to India and therefore there is nothing objectionable in his visit.

Taking exception to the visit by Mr Verma, China had said it was firmly opposed to it and that any interference by Washington in the Sino-India boundary dispute will make it more complicated.
