MODI INDIANPrime Minister Narendra Modi today blamed the SP and the BSP governments in Uttar Pradesh for the backwardness of the state and poor condition of farmers. Addressing a public rally at Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, Mr Modi urged people of the state to come out of the influence of SP and BSP for the overall development of the state. Mr. Modi said the two parties are playing game of corruption and shielding each other which is destroying the state.

The Prime Minister said there is a need to provide better irrigation facilities for farming in Bundelkhand. He also pitched for interlinking of rivers so that farmers can get timely water to irrigate their agricultural fields. Mr Modi said, the farmers of the area have faced problems due to scarcity of water.

Modi also advocated equal rights for Muslim women saying there should be no discrimination on religious grounds. He said issue of triple talaq is not a matter between BJP and opposition. He emphasized that there is a section among Muslims who support equal rights for Muslim women. He said his government wanted to protect Muslim women and is working on issue of triple talaq as per constitutional provisions

Earlier, Mr Modi appealed to the people of the country to send warm wishes and greetings in the current festive season to jawans and security forces who are serving the country at the borders. Mr Modi said, security personnel are sacrificing their lives for the sake of the country and its people.
