He was talking to newsmen in New Delhi. He is leaving for Dhaka tomorrow to prepare ground for Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s visit to Bangladesh in September. During his stay in Dhaka, Mr. Krishna would hold talks with his Bangladesh counterpart Dr Dipu Moni to review the entire gamut of bilateral ties ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Bangladesh in September this year.

External Affairs Minister S.M Krishna’s visit to Dhaka will provide India and Bangladesh an opportunity to review the progress made on implementation of the landmark decisions taken during the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to India in January 2010.

The joint statement issued during the visit had set out a new road map for India Bangladesh relations with focus on co-operation to resolve outstanding issues related to land boundary, transit facilities, sharing of river waters, co-operation in power sector and a one billion dollar credit line support from India for development projects in Bangladesh.
