India has expressed concern over the downward trend in the Middle East peace process including Yemen and Syria. It has called for a resumption of a comprehensive peace process that brings a lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
India’s permanent representative to the UN, Syed Akbaruddin told the Security Council that unilateral actions by the parties are moving them further apart.
Voicing concern over the political and security situation in Yemen, he asked all concerned parties there to amicably resolve their differences. He said New Delhi’s position on the Middle East Peace Process has been consistent and clear. He added that India endorses Quartet Roadmap and relevant UNSC Resolutions for Palestine issue.
