Hundreds of students and young supporters gathered at Jantar Mantar in the national capital as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) staged its first major street protest, demanding accountability over alleged irregularities in examinations and calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, the demonstration drew participants from different states, many carrying placards, wearing symbolic masks and raising slogans focused on examination reforms, transparency and student concerns. Organisers maintained that the protest was peaceful and urged supporters to remain disciplined throughout the event.
The protest was triggered by growing public concern over alleged lapses in national-level examinations and wider dissatisfaction among sections of youth over education and employment issues. CJP, which began as an online satirical movement, has rapidly expanded its presence on social media and transformed into an organised campaign attracting student participation across the country.
Delhi Police deployed heavy security arrangements around Jantar Mantar and other sensitive locations to maintain law and order. Authorities confirmed that a few individuals were briefly detained as a precautionary measure and later clarified that no FIR had been registered against the protesters.
CJP leaders said the movement would continue raising issues linked to education governance and examination integrity in the coming weeks.
