Heat wave intensifies in Uttar Pradesh with the mercury touching 45 degrees Celsius in the recent days, the heat wave intensified at several places in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow district administration announced advancing the summer break in all city schools. District Magistrate of Lucknow, Raj Shekhar said that classes Nursery to 8th will close from May 6 instead of May 13.
For classes 9th to 12th, the schools will close for the summer break from May 20. The intense heat wave condition has forced parents to petition the district magistrates of various districts for early closure of schools.
For the next one week before the summer break the school timings have also been changed to 7 am to 11 am in several districts. Frequent power cut in rural areas has added to woes of people who are compelled to remain indoors.
Western UP, Agra, Budelkhand region and central parts of the state are witnessing the mercury touching upto 45 degree Celsius mark.
